"A defining experience for me would be touring with the musical production HAIR around Europe. Traveling teaches so much, seeing other cultures and meeting other people makes you really appreciate what you have if you’re in an unfortunate area. And also, if you’re in a fortunate area, like some areas of Europe we were in, Germany mostly, just in attitude to certain social things they were more open-minded and more accepting. To me, that was a really nice environment to go into. I grew up in California so it is pretty accepting here, but being abroad just makes you look at things differently. It makes you step out from the American bubble and look at things objectively."
